Must be neat, tidy and an overall excellent layer.
This is a wonderful career opportunity for the successful applicant to work with A-Grade materials, namely Austral Hawthorn bricks with off-white mortar. The bricks are on -site and ready to go.
Previous experience essential, with Post Graduate perpend joint perfection skills being looked upon favourably.

IT'S A WRAP!

A Cliche I know, but I just can't resist......

We're rapt to be wrapped!!!!
It feels so much cosier now with "walls" up and the roof finished ( yep, happy to see that the capping and pointing are now completed. )
We think that the roof looks soooo good. Is there such a thing as "bad" roof tiling?? If there is, it ain't at our place!! Nice and neat and tidy and clean. And as far as I can tell, the only broken, chipped or cracked tiles are strewn on the ground.

What else?

Met our soon to be neighbours today who are just lovely!!!

They are also building with PD and we are waiting for the Bricklayer to finish their house so he can start on ours. He was supposed to start on their place today.....but didn't show. :-( We were almost as disappointed as them to turn up and find no brickies!!! ;-)

Oh well, can't be too far away now.......I hope! ( and pray! )

Also, we purchased our flooring last week. We opted to do this ourselves after handover ( read pay someone to do this for us after handover ) and have gone for a floating Timber laminate in "Wenge", wide plank. Strange name, stranger pronunciation, but nice floor!

No sign of any electrical work starting, although our 24/7 site said it started a few weeks ago.....
but the plumbing "rough in" seems to be finished, although the brass bits sticking out of the frame for the Laundry sink taps don't match up to where the sink is going to go.......uh oh!!

A little bit of progress....

Hello all,

Not a lot has been happening over the past fortnight, but here is a quick update on where we are at.

The Independent Frame Inspection went well ( Thanks to Bellebeau and R&C for the recommendation ). He picked up numerous small issues and one that was not so minor. Thankfully all have now been rectified, so the invoice has been paid!

The front Portico which they forgot, for one reason or another, has now been done.
Spoke with SS for the first time last week. It might not count for much, but he sounds very nice on the phone - easy going, chatty and approachable, so let's hope that that counts for something.

Guttering and Fascia were installed last week. They are both Woodland Grey ( or is that Woodland Green, depending on the light??? ) Either way, we're very pleased with the colour.

And today, big progress - the roof tiles were started. Just the "flat' ones at this stage, that pointing/capping business is yet to be finished. Hopefully ( wishful thinking?? ) these might reduce the amount of water on the slab. Not sure if it's a big problem or not, but some rooms have been like an indoor pool after the recent rain. The tiles are Barramundi, Tudor profile. Again, very happy with how these look.

No sign of the "Wrap".
And no sign of the Bricks.
What's more worrying is that we are waiting for the Bricklayer who is doing the PD house over our back fence to do our job when he has finished theirs.
What's so worrying about that?
Their bricks have been sitting around for 2 weeks and there isn't a Bricklayer in sight.
Sigh.....
And now here comes Easter.
Double Sigh....
