A Cliche I know, but I just can't resist......
We're rapt to be wrapped!!!!
It feels so much cosier now with "walls" up and the roof finished ( yep, happy to see that the capping and pointing are now completed. )
We think that the roof looks soooo good. Is there such a thing as "bad" roof tiling?? If there is, it ain't at our place!! Nice and neat and tidy and clean. And as far as I can tell, the only broken, chipped or cracked tiles are strewn on the ground.
What else?
Met our soon to be neighbours today who are just lovely!!!
They are also building with PD and we are waiting for the Bricklayer to finish their house so he can start on ours. He was
supposed to start on their place today.....but didn't show. :-( We were almost as disappointed as them to turn up and find no brickies!!! ;-)
Oh well, can't be
too far away now.......I hope!
( and pray! )Also, we purchased our flooring last week. We opted to do this ourselves after handover ( read pay someone to do this for us after handover ) and have gone for a floating Timber laminate in "Wenge", wide plank. Strange name, stranger pronunciation, but nice floor!
No sign of any electrical work starting, although our 24/7 site said it started a few weeks ago.....
but the plumbing "rough in" seems to be finished, although the brass bits sticking out of the frame for the Laundry sink taps don't match up to where the sink is going to go.......uh oh!!
Now, some progress pictures....

Earlier this week.....wrapped, roof tiles nearly finished.

The Alfresco area, in all it's green glory.

For Liana...trying to get a better shot of the roof/gutters/fascia colour...sorry, it's been rather gloomy! :-)

Hmmm, someone else's dirt in my backyard! Grrrr.

A novel approach to letting the tradies know what is going on. Who needs a copy of the plans? Heck, they'll probably be the wrong version anyway!
Tick. Ceilings at correct height.

As if we didn't know.....

Food storage area...hence the soft drink can.
Ta - da!!! Progress to date...capping/tiling done. The "dead" side....

....and from the back.

From the inside....those black hose thingies will be where the Island Bench goes.

What a mess!!! No dessert for those who don't tidy their rooms!
That's it for now. Hopefully my next update will have news of the elusive Bricklayer!! :-)
